Last week i went to watch Peter Jackson's remake of "Kingkong" with some friends :) at Plasa Semanggi.
I don't remember anymore the original movie since I'm still very small when I saw it. The story is about an ambitious filmmaker, Carl Denham, sails off to remote Skull Island to film his latest epic with leading lady, Ann Darrow. Native warriors kidnap Ann to use as a sacrifice as they summon "Kong" with the local witch doctor. But instead of devouring Ann, Kong saves her. Kong is eventually taken back to New York where he searches high and low for Ann, eventually winding up at the top of the Empire State Building, facing off against a fleet of World War I fighter planes.
In my opinion this movie was simply amazing, although its a bit to long (more than 3 hours), and the first 45 minutes quite boring (dont see the kong), the special effect was cool (thx WETA) and the "Kong" emotions really cool (bravo Andy Serkis - the actor who portrays Gollum in The Lord of the Rings and now in Kingkong). One of the best movies this year.
