My thoughts exactly. I'll stick to vietopia for Pho Bos he3x.

they said that it's natural for the rice noodle to taste like that and suggested to add all the condiments so the taste would be better.
Ngaco nih Jenz :)). Masakan Vietnam justru ngandalin ingredient yg segar. :D
Jenz Said :
iya nih Ven, gw rada2 takjub pas liat di menu ada poto pho + bulet2an bakso di atasnya.. emang masakan asli vietnam pake bakso?
satu lagi yang gw aneh selalu disediain saos sambel botolan, padahal rasa sopnya kan rusak kalo kena sambel (cindy pernah protes nih soal ini).
to Reza: if you have time, please try Do An's pho bo & tell me what do you think about it.
PeeKaBoo Said :
Bau apek dari rice noodlenya, kadang2 kalo dah kelamaan suka bau kaya gitu. Kalo di Sydney sih ya pho nya ada sapi tipis, sapi cincang sama bakso sapi yg gede2, malah ada spesial sama urat babat. Trus ada sambel botolan cabe sama semacem saos bbq, gue liatin org2 suka makan sapinya sama saos bbq, ternyata emang enak. Doh jadi kangen sayang disini susah nyari *hiks*

Jenz, waktu foto-foto di sana ditanya-tanyain gak sama pelayannya? Soalnya dulu gw ditanya2in, dengan sopan sih. Akhirnya hanya diminta ninggalin e-mail address.
Jenz Said :
ngga ditanya2in tuh.. tapi org2 disono emang super duper ramah :)
tika Said :
hehe iya, jen, soal sambal u/ makan pho.. emang lazim u/ dimakan pake sambal. cuman sambalnya bukan sambal botol yg kayak ABC. tapi chili garlic sauce ala vietnam.
Penampilannya mirip sambal bajak, walo rasanya beda n juga nih sambal lebih cair n banyak keliatan biji cabenya (kayaknya gw pernah liat di supermarket kyk Hero/food hall-yg jual products luar).
Selain sambal, gw juga suka kasih hoisin sauce hehehe in a way, jadi mirip mie bakso/soto mie indo yg kudu dibumbu2in dulu (kasih kecap=hoisin sause dan cabe=chili garlic sauce) lumayan bgt pas dulu kalo lagi kangen mie bakso abang2. oya, ama satu lagi.. acar jalapeno biar makin pedas n asam2 hehe nyam2 walo tanpa bakso :p
PS: tuh garlic chili sauce + hoisin sauce enak banget buat dipakai sebagai sauce cocolan u/ spring roll ala vietnam - yg kulitnya ga digoreng hehe sehat n enak :)

Kalo pho2 yg di Kanada sih, emang ada yg pake bakso Jen. Seperti yg PeeKaBo bilang deh kira2. Tapi soal sambel botol (abc ato pun lainnya), emang ada, cuma dulu roomate gue yg org Vietnam sih ga pernah pake di pho tapi di noodle/rice bowl. Mesti tanya sintul kali yah yg pernah ke Vietnam? :D

Jen gue dah coba do an semalam di citos. Uenak Jen, thanks for the recommendation. Kuahnya itu juara banget ya. Guriiiih and seger banget dan dagingnya alamaaak, banyak dan enak deh. Teh serehnya juga enak, baru sekali minum teh sereh yang ngak cuman teh dikasih stirir sereh doang kayak di banyak tempat. Enak deh, can't wait to go back and try out the other stuff, soalnya semalam udah jam 12an dan lagi on a tight budget he3x. Anything else i should try there? Any recommended appetizers or rice dishes perhaps? :). Anyway, thanks again.
sopjagung Said :
Reza, next time, you can try Do An's Goi Coun (vietnamese fresh spring roll with chicken & prawn).

Jenz,Keren baget nih review yang kamu bikin tentang resto2. But i'm quite surprised about Pho Bo from Hanoi la piazza.soalnya gwa sering makan disono en makanannya ok kok.waiternya juga ok servicenya.maksudnya mereka sering follow up kita.tapi ya lagi sue kali hehehe. kapan jenz bikin acara kumpul2 makan neh.ikutan ya.
Pindy Said :

I'm a member of celebrity fitness La Piazza, Kelapa Gading. and i'm a very regular guest in hanoi house. i'm think they had a very good food coz i really like their pho bo.Hot,fresh and full of beef broth taste.i think u should try again.by the way have u try gang gang sulai all u can eat???nice or not?
roy Said :
I first tasted My hanoi house food in Bandung, coz that is their first outlet.
It was good and left me with good impression. The pho bo was not over smell with beef (u know how some Phobo can have a very strong beef odour) And the most that I love was the Net spring rolls. The skin is unique and I never ate it anywhere else.
Then I went to the My Hanoi House in Grand Indonesia (their newest outlet just opened 2 months ago).
The atmosphere there is really cozy and nice. The waitress wear a unique uniform and were very helpful to recomend what good dishes they have.
I specificly would recommend the Fish 5 herbs. It was REALLY good.
And if u guys want to compare it to the vietnamese Restaurant in Canada or in Aus or even is US, u better be more forgiving. Coz the meat quality is ery different there. (and offcoz price wise too. Do u want to pay 70.000Rp/ US$ 7 for a bowl of Phoboin Indonesia? I dont think so.)
The sambal is there because I think they have to adjust to Indonesian tongue..I bet lotsa people asked for it!
And yes, I know Vietnames have BO VIEN, which are the same as BASO.
Tried Do an, I dont fancy their Pho BO. It smelled like a bad old Beef broth soup they made.
Try again, will ya?
Venny Said :
Hi Roy, when I compare, it's not so much the quality of the meat ( I don't think the ones overseas use top notch meat anyway. The meat used are actually the cheap variety, brisket) but because of the tinkering of authentication. Of course, the most authentic will be the ones from Vietnam and I doubt that in Vietnam, the meat quality is the same as the one in Canada or Oz and I doubt they use expensive cut. So.... what's the problem of creating a pho that is as good as the one in Vietnam (if not Canada or OZ) ? With broth as clear and light and tasty and vegetables fresh and crunchy? I guess that is the essence of my comment. Thanks!
