Last month, we visited a place called Warung Ngalam (reversed from the word 'Malang', a city in East Java). Located in the parking lot of Midori Restaurant & Bersih Sehat Massage, this place turned out to be a new business from Bersih Sehat Group. The interior is created to resemble a warung, but it's much cleaner & cozier. They offer various types of East Java cuisine such as: sop iga 17K, rawon 15K, soto ayam 12K, soto sulung 16K, sop buntut 29K, iga goreng 26K, buntut goreng 30K, lontong cap go meh 14K, tahu telor 10K, tahu gunting 10K, cwie mie (10-14K), pecel 9K, rujak cingur 15K, etc. The rice is priced at 3K and we can take as much as we want. That night, we ordered their Rawon & Cwie Mie, both of them tasted above average. We went back a week later and ordered their tahu telor. It was just so so, taste more like tofu omelette than tahu telor. The service & price are very reasonable, so we'll be back to try their other menus.

Bebek Goreng H.T Karang IV

Several weeks ago, We passed through this newly opened restaurant located across the famous Sandwich Bakar on Pesanggrahan street. This place apparently is a branch from the famous Bebek H.T Karang IV, actually I already heard that they opened their Jakarta branch on Karang Tengah street - Lebak Bulus, but never had time to try it. So we ordered 2 bebek goreng super (about 15K if I'm not mistaken) with Cah Kangkung 5K and steamed rice 3K & nasi uduk 5K (AYCE). From the drink list they have fruit juice selection only jeruk/alpukat/semangka/melon/jambu/sirsak/tomat/wortel at 3K while their ice tea range from 0.5K - 2K (refill). we have to waited for about 15-30 minutes and asked for our food for several times (maybe because this place is still new), and our meal turn out in about 1/2 dozen of pieces, it seems like they run out of bebek super (bigger size duck) and replaced it with almost the whole portion of the duck. In my opinion the begor taste simply delicious, a bit oily but I don't care, the duck was so fat, the meat was so juicy plus their oily chili sauce it was simply perfect. oh btw while we are paying we're given a free parking card. :)

Nasi Udang Khas "Bu Rudy"

Last week I heard my friend said that "Bu Rudy" open her restaurant at Kelapa Gading at 10th March. Being a big fan of her famous "Sambal Bawang", I decided to hunt it down on weekend :P So I dragged SC to drove along 'boulevard raya' & finally we found the place, we entered and ordered "nasi udang empal khas Bu Rudy" 12.5K, "Rawon" 12.5K. The meal was served pretty fast, steamed rice topped with fried prawn, "empal" and "kremesan". before we eat, we have to put the "sambal bawang" on top of the dish. In my opinion it was the "sambal" that makes it so deliciously hot, according to SC the rawon was a bit "alot" :P We bought back 2 bottles of "Sambal Bawang" 8k each, and "nasi bali daging" 12.5K. I really didn't like the nasi bali, it was to sweet & really not what i had in mind when I ordered it :(

Tiffin

Last Monday, I had lunch with SC at Mall Ambasador Foodcourt, while SC ordering "Nasi Campur Kenanga" I ordered "Bebek Goreng Madura" 19K at Tiffin's stall. The meal came with 1 pieces Begor, rice, lalapan, 3 types of Sambal and a bowl of "sayur asem". hmm delicious :)

Bebek Goreng Joko Putro

I always love to have duck for my meal as an alternative for chicken. Among my favorite there were "bihun bebek binjai" - pasar muara karang , peking duck - the duck king, Bebek Goreng Suryo. A couple of week ago with some friends I tried this one, located in kakilima, the banner outside said : "Joko Putro : Nasi Uduk, Bebek Goreng, Ayam Goreng, Pecel Ayam/Lele ..." so we ordered "Bebek Goreng" with a plate of "Nasi uduk". the service was quite fast & clean. the taste not bad, the meal came with lalapan & sambal terasi dadakan. Compared to other "bebek Goreng" from its class, but I think I like "Begor Suryo" better than this one.

I had Begor for lunch at Pondok Surgo Restaurant with some friends a few weeks ago, this place was famous for its Surabaya's Bebek Goreng (deep fried duck cooked in Surabaya's style) although they also served Chinese food, We ordered : 1 Bebek Goreng (4 pieces) 55K, Nasi 1 Bakul 15K, Jus Alpukat 12K, Jus Sirsak 11K, Es Calamansi 13K and Es Jeruk Nipis 11K. The begor was delicious, served with 2 types of sambal & 1 special sauce for Begor. Usually I prefer duck cooked in chinese style, but this one was an exception. I guess the duck was marinated in special sauce before frying it. and the result is the meat was tender & juicy inside but crispy out side. Very recommended deh :)

Soto Madura

I had Soto Madura (Madurese Style Chicken Clear Soup) for dinner last night. This one was my all time favorite meal. Located in a small road near Bina Nusantara University. I always visited this place from time to time.. In my oppinion he sell the most delicious soto in Jakarta CMIWW :) The soup was very tasty, full with chicken, potato croquettes, tomato and eggs.. mmm yummy... Selamat Makan :)
