Already quite full from 3 restaurants we visited before, we headed to Siam Garden just to try their dessert. Upon arriving, we asked whether there is a 50% discount and they answered that it only applies for food. Initially, I want to order Thai Mango Sticky Rice (kao niao ma muang), but it was not available so we ordered Cassava in coconut milk 9K and Durian Sticky Rice 22K instead. To be honest, the desserts didn't look appealing although the taste was acceptable. After we finished eating, we asked for the receipt, and found out that there was no discount at all. We complained and they adamantly said that the discount only applies for food, so we asked: "weren't the desserts count as food?" After a while, they finally gave us the discount and said that it was only for this once. It was actually not much, but I just didn't like their attitude. Well, I guess I'll never visit this place again.

I read about this place on Jalansutra mailing list about 2 months ago. Several members said that Saji serves up decent and very reasonably-priced Thai cuisine. So one day, along with some colleagues, we went there for lunch. The restaurant is located in a shophouse in Sudirman Park Apartment area. The interior is very spartan, just like a cafeteria with a bit of Thai accent in the corner.

One of the food I tried in Medan last holiday was Bihun Kari Ayam (Chicken Curry served with rice noodle) at RM Tabona. I insisted to have lunch here the first day I arrived. RM Tabona served a delicious Chicken Curry & Beef Curry, usually eaten with rice or bihun. The curry tasted so different from the one I tried at Padangnese restaurants. It tasted richer and spicier.
